We are an industrial/commercial masonry/general contracting company who is based out of Hampton Roads – but frequently do travel up and down the east coast. We have conducted masonry business regionally and locally for five generations and counting. We take maximum pride in our work. It is common for us to estimate and perform 100+ union and non union, government, civil, and private owner contracts annually. Most of our contracts are extremely technical and custom from ground floor to extreme heights. We normally do in house excavation, rebar tying, grouting, paving, concrete pumping/finishing, and crane operation. There are times when our labor force cannot keep up with our current contract load and we do need help with these particular tasks. I would leave more than 5 stars if I could! This company is amazing, great management and employees. I managed to get a 30 foot class a motorhome stuck in soft wet dirt in a location with very limited access. I really didn’t know what to do. Shovel Kings had a look, said no problem. They gave a very reasonable quote and pulled it out the next day! Thank you Shovel Kings!

Usually when you hire a contractor, you hope and pray that they will complete the job according to specs and do it with respect and care. Not only did Shovel Kings complete our job and fulfill our vision, their work completely exceeded all expectations. Also, the modifications they suggested opened our eyes to unimaginable possibilities! While they weren’t the cheapest quote that we got, we are thrilled with the results and know they will stand behind their work. This is by far the largest job we’ve ever contracted and we were very nervous. I have photographed for Shovel Kings for several years. While I have never personally hired them, I have seen many jobs through from start to finish. From a simple home repair, to a whole backyard makeover, to a new corporate business location from demo to ribbon cutting. Each job is completed to the highest standards, with integrity and professionalism. They are a joy to work with and around, and I hope to be able to work with them for years to come!

Cleared a brush area and brought in some fill to prep for a shed. Company was responsive. Quoting system is detailed and easy to use. Completed the work on time and as quoted, can’t ask for much more than that.

Shovel Kings is Grade A when it comes to tackling a job. I had a massive tree stump and 4 smaller tree stumps that had to be removed. On top of that, I needed roots removed and yard graded. Stumps removed, roots pulled out, holes filled in and leveled, sand spread, top soil spead, hay spread, and grass laid out. AMAZING WORK. They were in and out in 2 days! We RAN INTO a snag but without any hesitation, the owner, made it right. Shovel Kings has a very skilled and integral group of workers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL SCOPE OF WORK THAT SHOVEL KINGS PROVIDES. The Quality and Integrity can not be matched.

Came out to Hampton VA to help my daughter with some projects, including removing and replacing a driveway. These guys were really responsive, came out same day, and gave us a good quote.
